The Hypno-CBT® Directory is designed to help the public find practitioners who have completed recognised training and who meet our minimum expectations for professional conduct. We take our role in signposting seriously, and every therapist listed on this directory has gone through a basic verification process carried out by us.

What We Check Before Approving a Therapist
Every practitioner listed on this directory must provide evidence of the following:
- Qualification Verification
We check that the therapist has completed an approved training pathway in Hypno- CBT® or an equivalent recognised qualification.
This includes confirmation that:
– They have completed training with The UK College of Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy or
– They have completed accredited education that meets comparable standards.
We verify the qualification certificates before publishing their profile. - Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
Therapists must provide valid professional indemnity insurance covering their therapeutic work. A copy of their insurance document must be supplied during the approval process. - Membership of a Recognised Professional Body
We expect all approved therapists to be members of a reputable professional organisation with standards of conduct and requirements for ongoing professional development.
Therapists trained by us are typically signposted toward:
– NCIP – National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists
– NCH – National Council for Hypnotherapy
– GHR – General Hypnotherapy Register
– ACCPH – Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists & Hypnotherapists
We also accept therapists who are members of equivalent bodies in other countries. Membership is checked at the point of application.
What We Do Not Guarantee
This directory is a listing service, not a regulatory body. Although we carry out initial checks, we do not monitor therapists on an ongoing
basis, and we cannot guarantee that:
– their insurance remains valid,
– their professional membership remains current,
– they meet any additional requirements that may apply to their specific profession or country.
Therapists are fully responsible for maintaining their professional standing.
Your Responsibility as a Member of the Public
Before starting therapy, you should personally confirm that your chosen therapist has:
- Current professional insurance
- Up-to-date membership with a recognised professional body
- Qualifications that meet your expectations
- Experience or specialism relevant to your needs
We strongly recommend asking your therapist directly for:
- the name of their insurance provider
- their policy expiry date
- their professional membership number
- confirmation of any additional training or credentials
A reputable therapist will be happy to provide this information.
The role of the Hypno-CBT® Directory
It is important to understand that the Hypno-CBT® Directory:
- does not regulate therapists
- does not provide a complaints or disciplinary process
- cannot mediate between clients and therapists
- does not accept liability for the conduct, competence, or professional status of any therapist listed here
If you have concerns about the behaviour or practice of a therapist, you should:
- Raise the issue directly with the therapist, and/or
- Contact their professional body, which will have a formal complaints procedure.
Why We Provide This Directory
Our goal is to make it easier for the public to find therapists who have completed substantial training and who are committed to professional standards.
By offering this directory, we help connect individuals with practitioners who are:
- properly trained
- insured
- members of reputable organisations
- working within an ethical and professional framework
However, final responsibility always remains with the client to ensure a therapist is suitable and properly covered before beginning sessions.
